What we know
Published hallmark, dealer, and auction records repeatedly identify Sylvia Chee as Navajo. We keep the public record focused on what those sources support rather than adding personal biography we cannot verify.
Her work
Documented examples attributed to Sylvia Chee include cuffs and bracelets, rings, earrings, pendants, and necklaces in sterling silver. Published examples show turquoise, coral, lapis lazuli, black onyx, and mother of pearl among the materials used in her stone-set work.
Marks & signatures
Our cuff is stamped S and STERLING. Published hallmark, dealer, and auction records support the Sylvia Chee attribution, and documented Sylvia Chee pieces use the same S / sterling marking pattern. An isolated S is not unique across Native American jewelry, so we use the mark together with the piece’s documented history and outside examples rather than treating S alone as proof.
Our featured Sylvia Chee cuff

A slender sterling silver cuff with a teardrop mother-of-pearl center, V-shaped openwork, symmetrical scrollwork, flower-and-leaf detail, and a natural patina.
